Ashizuri is an indispensable and important location in the story, as it is the birthplace of the protagonist, Nakanohama Manjiro.

There is a bronze statue of Ryoma at Katsurahama Beach, and a bronze statue of Manjiro here at Cape Ashizuri.Please take a look at their brave figures, both gazing firmly at Pacific Ocean.
The John Mann Museum is another recommended spot where you can experience his life in a realistic way, along with the historical context of the time.

Additionally, the birthplace of John Manjiro (Nakanohama Manjiro) is located in Nakanohama, which is on the way from Tosashimizu City to Sunnyside Hotel.Admission is free, so please feel free to stop by!

📅 Construction schedule and regulations
• Construction period:September 2026 to March 2028(Schedule)
• Entry restrictions:During the construction period, access to Cape Ashizuri Observation Deck and the area around the nearby Nakanohama Manjiro (John Manjiro) statue will be restricted. (There is a high possibility that the statue of Manjiro will become obscured.)
• Alternative route:During the construction period, a temporary path will be set up to the "Tengu-no-hana Observation Deck" to ensure a pedestrian route.
• Partial opening:The observation deck is scheduled to be partially opened to the public in stages once the main structure is completed.
